The autograph manuscripts of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Paganini Rhapsody Opus 43 and his Third Symphony Opus 44 have returned to Villa Senar as single facsimile copies. Here at his holiday retreat on Lake Lucerne Switzerland, Rachmaninoff composed both works during the summer months of 1934-1936. Since the originals reside in the Library of Congress, Washington, the Serge Rachmaninoff Foundation (is in charge of SENAR) decided to commission these facsimile. After exclusive permission was granted by great-granddaughter Natalie Wanamaker-Javier, the Library of Congress kindly made available high resolution scans, from which photography specialist Hans Sierat was able to produce near to perfect copies, simulating even the binder's work. Expert advice was offered by the Rachmaninoff Network.
