Dear Sirs,

I refer to my letter of May 17, 1944 authorizing you to continue to effect

payments of small bills relating to the upkeep of my property "Villa Senar" at

Hertenstein as well as payment of telephone, insurance, electricity and tax

bills to the debit of my account, provided that such bills bear the signature of

Mrs. Schulze.

Will you kindly take note that the above authorization is hereby amended insofar

as, in the futur said bills must bear the signature of Dr. Albert Riedweg,

solicitor, Schwanenplatz 8, Lucerne, instead of that of Mrs. Schulze.

Yours very trulyscan: 0000007.jpg

Dear Mrs. Rachmaninoff,

I was so pleased to have your letter of January 3rd and to hear that you are

well.

At Senar all is in order. From time to time I am going to look after the place.

I intended to go to New York in January but I have to postpone my journey till

next summer.

I think you heard from your daughter concerning my advances I made to her and to

your sister in law. For the good order I beg to enclose you my statement of

accounts including the interests counted until the end of this month.

You can transfer the amount at your convenience when a transfer to Switzerland

will be possible. If you do not prefer to transfer it from your funds with the

Crédit Suisse which would safe you the interests of 5% p.a. Would you prefer the

later then you could instruct the Crédit Suisse to pay to Messrs. Falck & Co.,

Bankers in Lucerne the amount without mentioning my name.

My bankers are informed that a payment by the Crédit Suisse on your behalf would

be for my account. I repeat that for me it is the same whether you wait till a

transfer from New York is possible or you pay the amount through the Crédit

Suisse.

I hope to have the pleasure to see you in spring. We live very comfortably in

Switzerland and practically without re-
